School Mock Court Case Project SCIO

In 2009 Chamberlain McBain set up the juniors section of the School Mock Court Case Project in Edinburgh. The junior project now spans primary schools across the East and West of Scotland as well as Tayside and Fife.

With the success of the junior section, we then rolled out the project to secondary schools in 2013. This project has also grown, taking in schools not only from the Lothians, but Falkirk, Perth & Kinross and Fife.

The junior section is a cross-curricular project which uses a court case to encompass a range of class room subjects - from art to journalism, debating and writing skills, to name just a few. The Senior section is very academic and is run in the School of Law, Edinburgh University outwith school hours.

Every year we enlist the help of nearly 100 others, whether they be tutors, sheriffs or court officers. Both sections have end of session award ceremonies, with nearly 1,000 attending the juniors.
